Diabetes

Diabetes Mellitus (sugar diabetes) affects the body’s ability to use blood sugar for energy. The main types include type 1 and type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. In addition to individualizing treatment, Dr. Desai’s main focus is to educate the patient regarding proper nutrition, diet, exercise and the prevention of disease complications.

Thyroid

The thyroid is involved in metabolism and general well being. Disorders of the thyroid include hypothyroidism/Hashimoto’s, hyperthyroidism/Graves Disease, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, pregnancy related thyroid disorders and thyroid abnormalities due to medications. Dr. Desai treats all types of thyroid problems and performs thyroid ultrasound and thyroid biopsies within the office.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a disease where bone becomes fragile and can lead to fractures. Low bone mass and fractures can occur due to many reasons. Paget’s disease of bone is a condition affecting how your bone breaks down and rebuilds. Dr. Desai evaluates and treats most bone disorders including Parathyroid disorders.

Metabolic Disorders
